There is nothing like the combination of elegant living on the sea and exquisite experiences on shore. Azamara Journey is a ship that promises the cruise of a lifetime. Designed to navigate into smaller, more remote ports of call, Azamara Journey gives guests the chance to see life off the beaten path, to travel in the most exotic and authentic way.

Each excursion on shore is beautifully orchestrated to give you a true sense of the place and its people, to become part of the fabric rather than just observing it. Visit some of the Mediterranean's most fascinating ports - Venice, Koper, Zadar, Dubrovnik, Santorini, and Nauplion. From medieval towns to sandy beaches, sparkling harbors to ancient fortresses, flowered courtyards to Renaissance palaces, each day offers new treasures to discover.

The Ambiance
For the 694 passengers lucky enough to embark on this unique voyage, each moment at sea embodies the pinnacle of luxury on board Azamara Journey. When you walk the expanse of this superbly crafted ship you'll get the sense of strolling through an elegant European hotel with brilliant ocean views. The decor dazzles with handcrafted mahogany wood, rich fabrics, intriguing art - a beautiful and deeply comfortable environment. It's an utterly romantic version of travel underscored with the kind of personalized service that leaves you with nothing to do but enjoy.

The Nuance
Even the most minute aspect of your voyage has been carefully considered. With the perfect ratio of staff to guests, you'll find all your needs and whims catered to. From the server who brings you a spectacular dish to the Destination Specialist who remembers your fondness for archeology, attention to your individual interests is top priority. Staterooms and suites offer an idyllic sanctuary that is warm and welcoming yet distinctly elegant, with a host of deluxe amenities. Each stateroom is outfitted with Egyptian cotton robes, plush slippers, Elemis® toiletries, flat-screen TV and Wi-Fi. Bottled water, fresh fruit and flowers will be delivered to your room daily. For guests staying in the luxurious suites, enjoy various spa services or watch one of the ship's DVDs in the privacy of your own stateroom.

The Flavor
Sesame-seared yellowfin tuna steak with tamarind stir-fried vegetables, jasmine rice and a sake soy-wasabi reduction, sacher torte with apricot coulis - just a sampling of the fine dining you'll experience. Each meal on board promises to be a voyage in itself with nightly culinary artistry inspired by the world's most accomplished chefs, and the exotic ports you will be touring. In addition to the main dining room, you can choose to dine in either of two specialty restaurants. Prime C is an authentic steak and seafood restaurant. Aqualina features regional, multi-course, Mediterranean-style menus. Each restaurant features an extensive wine selection.

The Inspiration
As the voyage unfolds guests can immerse themselves in the subtleties of each destination, its cultural and culinary flavors, its natural wonders and history. An on board 'excursion expert' will help you select excursions based on your personal interests, and will also serve as a destination guide offering information and interesting insights about each port of call. Be entertained by nightly shows, a casino, a seven-piece orchestra, and on board shopping. Words cannot describe the incredible intimacy and enrichment provided by a cruise of this caliber. However, the moment you step aboard Azamara Journey, you'll recognize it.

Ports of Call

Venice, Italy
One of the world's most beautiful cities also happens to be one of its most unusual. Venice is made up of over 120 islands in the Adriatic Sea connected by a labyrinth of waterways instead of streets, a fascinating city built on water.

Koper, Slovenia
A key commercial center with a Venetian past, Koper is Slovenia's only deep-water port. Stroll the narrow streets of the "old city" to the Praetorian Palace, which could easily be the setting of a Renaissance drama, sip a coffee in the square, or visit the Cathedral of St. Nazarius, the largest in Slovenia.

Zadar, Crotia
The oldest Slavic town on the sparkling Adriatic Coast, Zadar's history and culture date back over 3,000 tumultuous years. Today, Zadar charms with medieval churches, Roman ruins, an extensive archaeological museum, and a promenade that stretches along the sea. Don't miss the city's beloved symbol, the 9th-century Church of St. Donat.

Dubrovnik, Croatia
This charming little town has been resting on the Dalmatian Coast for some 1,300 years. Once you pass through the Old Town's stone walls, you will be transported into the breathtaking medieval world of Stari Grad. Marble-paved squares, monasteries and fountains are just a few of the antiquities still standing just as they were over a thousand years ago.

Santorini, Greece
Here on Santorini, you'll find whitewashed houses accented by roofs of the bluest blue - there's no doubt that the azure waters of the Aegean have served as creative inspiration. Among the many historic sites on the island is the ancient city of Akrotiri, once buried under a thick blanket of volcanic ash over 3,600 years ago.

Nauplion, Greece
Residing on the eastern coast of the Peloponnese peninsula, Nauplion is characterized by the Palamidi Fortress - a shining example of the city's Venetian occupation in the 15th century. The picturesque vista showcasing the Greek Islands is certainly worth the 999-step climb.

Shore excursions are made available and arranged by Azamara Cruises or their representatives, who use independent contractors.

All local transportation and sightseeing prior to and after the cruise program is arranged by Global Destinations Management, Ltd. and operated by Reisebüro Eurotours Ges.m.b.H. in Italy and BYRON ARGIRI Ltd. in Greece.
